The NSSA Puerto Rico Conference is registered non profit organization under the IRC 501c3 (IRS) and a Conference of the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA), California USA, a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage and assist its members in their interest to learn and develop the fundamentals and skills of surfing competition making sure that every junior competitor surfers stayed in school and educated themselves so that they could be successful in anything they chose to do, while competing in professionally structured, high quality events and Training Sessions, every season at the Ramey Area in Aguadilla giving the opportunity for all the young competitors from the Caribbean Basin fulfill their dreams of becoming a professional surfer.

No amateur surfer should think about going pro until he or she takes a crack at the NSSA Nationals as a major stepping stone to Pro-Hood and the message is very clear: Schoolbooks first, Surfboards second.

As part of our multilateral approach to aquatic sports with emphasizes on the same fundamentals to transfer the benefits of each discipline to the next. Sports disciplines like Water Polo (pool & ocean), Swimming, Junior Lifeguard and Learn to Surf programs emphasize on swim first then surf approach, practicing technique and paddling fundamentals a controlled environment  

Established in 2018 by Surf Coach Ernesto "Ernie" Alvarez, a veteran coach, waterman, competitor, environmental activist, trainer, educator, the NSSA Puerto Rico Conference promotes the qualities of good training, discipline, and competitive excellence while supporting the merits of academic achievement to young surfers, providing a fun and safe surfing experience for all of its members
