As a good standing member / athlete of the NSSA Puerto Rico Conference, we would like to help you achieve your athletic and sports goals. For that, every athlete needs to first, set their goals clearly and organize a long-term plan within their possibilities and realities of academics, family and life. An annual Plan is designed to strategize the development of the athletes integrally, first with their commitment as a member of the NSSA, second, clearly defining their objectives and the periodization of its trainings in relation to its main events
Testing and planning are foundational pillars for success in sports, impacting athletes at all levels. Their importance spans various aspects of athletic development and performance.
Planning provides structure and direction to the training process, ensuring that efforts are focused and aligned with desired outcomes.
Prehabilitation ("prehab") and energy system training are both crucial for optimizing physical performance, preventing injuries, and enhancing overall well-being. They address different but complementary aspects of physical preparation.
The importance of both general physical preparation (GPP) and special physical preparation (SPP) is paramount for athletes seeking to improve their physical capabilities. They serve different yet complementary roles in building a well-rounded and high-performing individual.
The importance of technical preparation in surfing cannot be overstated. It forms the bedrock upon which all other aspects of surfing – physical fitness, wave knowledge, and even mental fortitude – are built. Without a solid technical foundation, a surfer's progress will be limited, their risk of injury increased, and their overall enjoyment diminished.
The importance of wave selection and priority are critical components of success in competitive surfing. They are intertwined, influencing a surfer's scoring potential, heat strategy, and overall performance.
The importance of mindfulness and breathing for surfing athletes cannot be overstated. These mental and physiological tools offer significant benefits that directly translate to improved performance, enhanced safety, and a deeper connection with the ocean. In the dynamic and often unpredictable environment of surfing, the ability to be present and regulate one's physiological state is paramount.
Developing strong scoring ability is absolutely fundamental to success in competitive surfing. In a sport where judges subjectively evaluate wave rides, a surfer's capacity to consistently perform high-scoring maneuvers is the primary determinant of their results.
